While browsing through tumblr, I found so many haters for my religion - Christianity. It was really shocking to find so many offending notes that people have wrote about hating Jesus. This note particularly caught my attention. It sure isn't as offensive as the others but it still has a number of things said, that can be debated for:
I don’t like how Christianity is represented, and I don’t like how some churches are pointing the finger at people, rather than loving, trying to understand or listen to them. I saw on the news that [WBC] had posters saying things like, ‘all fags go to hell,’ and that blew my mind,” he continues. “It made me so angry: no wonder people look at the church and laugh because there are a bunch of clowns taking scripture out of context.” God is love and the Bible is a love story; calling people faggots and saying they are going to hell is a complete misrepresentation, and I have a big problem with that. Promoting hate has no part in faith. Us judging people is not what it is about, at all.” -  Jake Luhrs; August Burns Red
Okay, let's make this clear - I am a really religious person and my faith in Lord Jesus, (guided by my parents and other Christian pastors such as Benny Hinn and Pak Pariadji), is always growing everyday. And although (as far as I know) I am the only one in my TOK class (and even perhaps my whole year level) , who actually believes that God exists, I still respect all my classmates and friends their opinions, as long as they respect mine. I am not a fanatic who plans to force people to believe in my God, but when I see speeches like shown above and on the left, I personally find it really hurtful to see people argue like this. It gets me so frustrated at both sides, because there are so many misunderstandings from both views. Before I continue expressing my opinions about this speech, I just want to make it clear that this again, is my blog , filled with my opinions and views about this world and this life. You may not agree on all things I say and what I believe in, but I would appreciate if you respect my views and I will respect yours.Alright, I often see this line being stated whenever atheists are trying to bring down Christianity - "hating and judging , rather than loving." . They are often saying that the bible and God contradicts himself because "he hates gays" but then he "throws them into hell" . Alright , firstly, I understand how these people have became angry and they have every right to be angry because there have been many cases where priests have contradicted themselves and where people who are self-claimed Christiants, are protesting against gays when those people didnt even harm or do anything bad to the society. However because of these homosexuality cases, I think it has caused a lot of commotion where people are now blaming Christians for almost every thing related to homosexuality!

Well hold on people, that's not fair to go blaming Christians as a whole and then start making offending jokes about God which relates to homosexuality. That means you guys are contradicting yourselves because you THINK that it is funny to put the concept of gay-ness onto the christians and to God. So aren't you offending those who are actually gay in life, too? . You guys dont stop and think before you say these things. There are MANY types of Christians, and I know that in Australia, Catholic and Christian are the same thing, but they are not. Catholic is just a branch from Christianity. You cannot simply generalise just like that. It's just like how its wrong to say that muslim people are all terrorists and islam is a bad religion - all because of the terrorist happenings. There was a muslim person from tumblr, who also defended their religion. This is a part of her message which I agree on:

"Extremists are the ones to blame, not Muslims. Why should we be left hopeless? We didn’t do anything. And as for the Qu’ran burning this weekend in Florida, I believe ...The thought of that night makes me cry. Do you all understand the severity and ignorance of that act? Why isn’t anyone stopping them? My religion, my faith didn’t hurt you. EXTREMISTS DID. They are NOT religious. My faith is NOT a cult." -

And this statement, I think must apply to Christianity and every other religion too. It's not fair to judge a whole religion based on historical events. Those "christians" who went around holding up those offensive posters against homosexuality, aren't real Christians I think. They are simply putting the name of religion before them , to make their protest look stronger since it has 'high authority' and people are supposed to believe in everything the churches say. - Well NO . This is not true . In my belief, we were taught to only believe in His words (The Bible) . This means that people like priests , cannot be trusted completely, because they are only humans. They are not God. So they have no right to say that everyone must listen to them just because they say that they are 'higher rank' (spiritually-talking) than everyone else. (-_-)" . These "Christians" who are making such a big deal about people who are gays, are seriously humiliating our religion. Because God did not create a person to be gay. That is why I am against that image I put up the top before. In what section of the bible does it say that God makes some people gay? Yes in the bible it does state that God made us, but that doesn't necessarily imply that He randomly picked people to be gay. I know that in the bible it says that God doesnt approve people being gay or lesibian because originally, God created man and woman to become one. However, IF YOU ARE A REAL CHRISTIAN, and IF YOU HAVE READ THE BIBLE VERY CAREFULLY, God does not want to force us to do what he says anymore, because the people in this world are too stubborn to listen to His words. God is happy for those who follow Him and His words and continue to do so, but then it is up to those who choose to follow a different path that turns away from His. Back to the whole situation where people always argue that God loves everyone, so why doesnt he love gays? . (-_-)" hoih. this statement is always added in. but why only this statement? .because you people who dont believe in the Lord , has not even read the bible! so that's why you have nothing else to state besides that statement! Well yes , God does love all of his children, but it saddens him to see them committing sinful acts and behaviour. You may not think that it is sinful, but according to His laws, it is. I don't want to go in depth about the whole hell thing, but yes we believe that, unfortunately anyone who isn't as pure as God wants them to be, goes into hell. For those Christians who have a much stronger faith and a closer spiritual relationship with Lord Jesus, believe that we humans must be careful in everything we say or do, because according to the bible, any little sin we do without repent, can send us to hell. And it saddens me to see and hear people who claim themselves as Christians and priests to put a shameful name on our religion. Because it seems like they only think that the only "sinful act" that sends people to hell is only for being gay. Well no, that's not correct. I don't know how to explain it clearly, but I cannot emphasize to you anymore on how there are different groups in christianity, and depending on which group you are in, it will determine how you behave, how you interpret the bible (because unless your faith in God is strong, the bible is really hard to interpret and is often misinterpreted by non-believers which often leads to misunderstanding and further arguements and debates.) , and what you are taught about God. All I know is that we all (meaning all groups of christians) worship the same God, but it is the different styles of teachings of each group which make us have different views and beliefs about God and this world. This means that not all us Christians are fanatical and forceful and nor are we hateful to homosexuality. Because for us (christian protestants), we let people be who they are or who they want to be because its their choice and their life and we respect that. We are not allowed to judge them or discriminate them (according to the bible) , unlike what the other people did. And we dont want to create such a commotion because we are humans too, who also fail to be perfect and we are not worthy and not our place to judge people because only the Lord has the authority to judge His people.

This , offends me . Calling God a "Jerk" is crossing the line.
Simply judging God, based on HUMAN FACTS, is crossing the line.
Just shut your tongue back in your dirty filthy mouth. Enough of this whole misunderstanding.

In conclusion, and also in relation to the first speech i put at the very beginning of this post, I find it upsetting that there is much a huge misunderstanding between us all. I clearly am aware that what those 'christians' are doing now, like sending hurtful messages to gays, is completely wrong and immoral and i sympathise for all the people who are/have became victims of this issue. However, I would also like to say that not all christians are as ridiculous as those people are. In my opinion, i think those so-called-christians were only using the name of religion to make their statement seem more powerful, but they arent. - they are only offending people who support homosexuality and they are also putting a bad label to the religion. However , I would also like to give a message to atheists to stop judging so easily. Don't ever believe that all Christians are as ridiculous as those other people. Real christians wouldn't dare to do something like that because they should know that homosexuality is not the only sin that you can do on this earth, and they wouldnt want to start a fight out of nowhere. Believe me, in the bible, there are so much more rules. And [according to my beliefs] unless a person is spiritually connected with the Lord, usually people who go sending hurtful messages actually have no idea what they are talking about because they are not religious at all. The Bible is confusing sometimes, and it does sometimes lead to misunderstanding, but please, I think that people who don't believe in God / or haters of God, should not go around disrespecting or insulting Christians back, just because a minority of them had insulted gay people. Saying things like - "theyre a bunch of clowns", is really mean okay. Though insulting us is still okay because we are only human anyway, but making offensive jokes about Jesus is completely over the line. For any real believers of Jesus, you jokers can't believe how insulting your jokes mean to us. Insulting the Lord is crossing the line and you are only entering that danger zone at your own risk. But anyway, if you guys are being hateful to christians as a whole in return, that means that you arent doing anything right either. You arent any better than those people who insulted gays. You're simply getting pleasure from taking revenge, by offending the religion as a whole, when many of them are actually innocent. But go ahead if thats what you want to do, because again, I/we have no right to say anything because it's a problem that you've created between you and God.

Sigh. (-_-)".  I think we must respect one another, stop behaving stupidly and stop behaving so hatefully.
This is my final message that I would like to share:

BEING A CHRISTIAN DOES NOT IMPLY THAT WE ARE ALL HOMO-PHOBICS.
So stop being ridiculous, stop contradicting yourselves, stop your offensive behaviour and stop insulting innocent Christians but most importantly, our God - Jesus Christ.
