Do you think that honesty or trust is more important to a relationship?

I think that honesty is more important because if both of you are honest to each other, then you know that no lies will ever come between you, therefore you will automatically trust one another <3

My reason of saying this is because when I was in a relationship, he told me that trust was the most important aspect in a relationship. he would ask me - "Do you trust me?" I always answered - Yes , I will always trust you. He asked this question many times. It turned out that he misused the trust I had in him, and he ended up cheating on me. That's why I think it's useless to only use trust in a relationship, because anyone could misuse that trust because there was no "honesty" established in the first place.
