Feeling nostalgic

Hi all :) I've been studying and I thought I would take a break from it. I was browsing on my Facebook history and I became very nostalgic when I discovered a note written by one of my past very close friend back when I was year 11 and he was year 12. Those who were long time loyal readers of my blog, you probably might remember a guy named Frank. In his note he wrote lots of memories with specific people from high school and from university. I was tagged in the note and in it he wrote:
"Those days in Kilmore, I chatted with Merry and shared the secrets between us.
How sweet we were!"

Oh gosh.. I rush of nostalgia went through my mind when I read that. We used to be THAT close? Seriously? Wow.. I have to be honest, I really miss those sweet memories.. In the present time, Frank is studying well and he even has a new girlfriend.. His life reached a new chapter and he is living off very finely - And I am very happy for him. But I don't know, I still feel very emotional for some strange reason!  Perhaps I miss those days where we could carelessly fall in love with anyone who made our heart feel warm... Perhaps I miss young love. I miss all those times where we shared our secrets and I still remember my heart fluttering every time I talked to him. Haha... Yeah, that's right, I shyly remember remember having feelings for my friend! Nevertheless, memories like these, I will always treasure them.. Even as my life progresses, I will keep precious pieces of memories in my heart forever. As for the future, I hope to find the guy who can make my heart flutter, not for a short time, but for the rest of my life. Someone who will look after my heart and keep it safe and warm :)

Talk to you soon bloggers.

KV Retreat

Hey all ! I just came back from a KV ( Key Volunteer ) Retreat from SLIM student life. It was definitely a trip that I will always remember and treasure. We did so much bonding activities and studied more about ministry. It was a very rewarding experience. So on Day 1, we focused more on the bonding of our fellowship. We started off with praying for each other and relating to the theme of "What would Jesus do" situation. Then we played a few games which involved strategic actions which was a lot of fun ! There was this game where we pretended that the rope was an imaginary electrical fence. And using team work, we had to figure out how to get to the other side without touching that fence. We had a few strong guys who lifted each other to the other side. And they let girls step on their thigh to get across.. When it was my turn, I felt so embarrassed because I'm so heavy LOL. Then we had some morning tea, and our lovely missionary leader gave us this really sweet gift:

Look at those cute cups!!! They even have our name decorated on them. So adorable.

Next up we went to the local swimming pool, but I wasn't able to swim because I had no bathers and because of girl issues T.T WHYYYYYYY. I love swimming!!! Or at least having fun at the pool. Hahaha. But oh well.. At least it was nice watching my friends swim :) After we went home, we formed a circle and did a personality test. We had to choose traits that we felt were strongest for us and in the end, we were told what our personality is. I am MELANCHOLIC. Which means that I am apparently organised, cautious choosing friends and I tend to look at the negative side of things. There was a long description and I have to be honest... They were mostly very true. Now what I really took out of this personality test was that we shared with each other our traits. And this is very helpful because we could each see our strengths and weaknesses and thus, we got to know each other more closely which really helps us to encourage and support one another better.

Relationships:

Well during the trip, I got relatively close to this guy whom I shall code name him, "M4" . To be honest, when I first met him last year, I really didn't like him. To me, he was very loud, noisy and rude. But you know what happened during this trip? Man, fate does like to twist things around ! I was caught up in a train situation with him before the trip, then I was chosen as his "Guardian Angel" throughout the trip ! Like we had this game going on where each of us had a mortal and we had to be their guardian angel - So we had to be nice to them throughout the trip and give them a gift at the end. And I picked out his name out of the hat! Out of ALLLLL 12 people in the trip, I HAD to get HIM. Hoih. But anyways, I actually got to know him much better during these 2 days. Like in the past, I had only been observing him so in a way "Judging him". But since we got to do the personality test, it was revealed that his personality is Sanguine, which means that he is naturally a very humorous person... But in fact was supposed to be opposite to my personality lol! But anyways, we joked around alot and he turned out to be a fun guy. So yeah. It's good lah that I got to know people really well during the trip. I mean, God created us to have different personalities... So I guess the best way to accept everyone is to treat them with love :)

Relationships; love; our soul mate?

I came across this really touching quote by Tim Keller which depicts what we should look for in a soul mate. Most of the times we are trapped in by good-looks and get hasty to get into a relationship with the person whom we desire to be with so greatly... But sometimes and unfortunately things go wrong and their real personality is revealed along the way, ending up with arguments and clashes. This quote however, based on the bible, tells how that friendship should be the key element before a steady and successful relationship and it's true! Think about it. When we are friends with a person and we have so much in common and we accept one another's personality, then our friendship will last a life time, correct? How much more beautiful if that true friendship blossoms into true love?  Have a read of this beautiful quote:

‘Suppose you have a very good friend of the opposite sex with whom you share common commitments and projects which excite you both far more than others. You trust their wisdom and share many intimacies without fear. They understand you well and give you great advice. But you think they don’t attract you romantically. Think carefully. The bible says our longterm relationships should be with those who are more than our best friend, not less. Our culture encourages us to screen first for romantic appeal and see friendship as a secondary benefit. The bible encourages us to think the other way round. Look for someone who understands you better than you do yourself and who makes you a better person. And then explore whether that friendship could become a romance or more. It can be surprising how the holy spirit can then take and develop your feelings for one another, when built on the foundation of friendship’.

Dreams and Friendship

Good morning lovely people! I was just trolling on Tumblr (which I hadn't visited for months!) and I came across a lovely blog called Pinkstrawberry with so many really pretty and inspiring images. Being the sucker that I am for pretty images, I saved a lot of them :p The one on the right is nice :) And totally true! Many people dream about what they're aspiring to become or what their dream goal in life is. Yeah that's great that we all have our own dreams, but sitting there in bed not doing anything about it isn't going to make it become true. We need to put a lot of effort and determination for dreams to work, don't you think? :)

Moving along, do you guys still remember who M1 is? Well for those who do remember, our friendship is always going up and down. It wasn't the other week ago when we hung out. But for the past week, he's been silent and ignoring me.. Sigh.. But you know what? I'm gonna take it as a sign. Remember how I've once blogged about how friendships usually don't last forever? And for those that don't last, it's because God knows that they are of no use to make you grow into a better person anymore? Yeah maybe that's with M1. Anyways, we weren't meant to be more than bestfriends, so I'll leave it as that and I'll try not to be upset that he's ignoring me. Because anyway, I'm not really the one in loss if I think about it. I'll just treasure all the memories of friendship we had. Nevertheless, I still feel that it's unfriendly of a friend to suddenly ignore..

Next up, Uni is starting in a month! 4th of March. Still got some time left! I've missed uni so much. I actually MISS going to lectures and tutorials. But I certainly don't miss the bulk assignments they give us. Lol. Oh wells. Hahaha.

Talk to you later bloggers!
